Most of the time, not always, when people say something (regardless whether good or bad), we tend to focus more on HOW they say it, not so much the content and hence feel or react based on how that something was said. Eg, "You really think so?" compared to "You RREEAAALLLYY (slight pause) think so?" aka *in an i-can't-believe-she's-thinking-otherwise tone*. DUH the second one sounds more insulting. Simply as an obeservant individual, I find it rather disturbing that people don't watch the way they say things, it can often come across in a less than respectful manner [which is the least you can be toward another individual] I'm sure most people agree with that one, especially if you have been on the receiving end of something as such.
On the other hand, the way good things are said can be enhanced with dynamics, tone and even expressions to make a good remark, well.. better. Again, "That looks great!" with "That looks G.R.E.A.T!" *beams*+*thumbs up*+*nods head*. Of course it's a good thing, it's as simple as black and white, Batman and Joker or the PPGs and Mojojojo? Well, you get me. Thing is, I'm suprised at how people can misuse these "combinations" (primarily when something bad is being said) and therefore make others feel like crap.
No, I didn't get offended in that way today but i overheard a conversation of an insulter and an insultee.
Guy: "Why can't you get it right!?! This (slight pause) comes after this and that" *kind of tone that you would be talking to a baby with*
Girl: "Sorry, it's difficult. I'm trying my best."
Guy: "I don't know what's SO *dragged and exaggerated* difficult. ANYONE *looks duh-ly at girl* can do it.
Short yet pretty offending wouldn'tcha say? Everyone is different and therefore have different levels of understanding, different opinions, different principles etc. Some are faster at understanding things compared to others but remember, just cause someone is faster doesn't mean him/her better. They're just different from those who aren't as fast as them ;) // i was THIS close to approaching and speaking my mind but then again it's not good to get into other peoples beezewax so yeah, THINK about how someone would take your remark before you decide to actually tell it and if you know they're not going to take it well. Hmm, rephrase? lol. It's all in the way :)
